Okay so last time I featured my Nolan Ryan book that actually is on this very bookshelf…
Now you can see the Nolan Ryan autographed ball and the Mike Scott autographed baseball card.
The concrete cat (serving as a book end) is a relic from my parent’s married years. I have [...]

This is obviously Nolan Ryan’s autobiography-
How amazing is the cover?!?! The Ryan Express in a tuxedo and a baseball cap.
Nolan Ryan and Mike Scott were my idols during my early childhood (eventually Craig Biggio became one as well)
I have autographs from all three of those but I have only met Craig Biggio…
I am still holding [...]

The ALL image pages are in the back of the book- basically like a photo album….
But most of the book is text from the journal entries.
I am way excited because it turned out totally awesome.

Not sure if I mentioned this yet but I have been working on compiling and formatting my old online journal entries into an anthology.
I am going to publish this anthology (lulu.com).
I think I might add some pictures to it to add some context if I can but otherwise I do not intend to edit any [...]

I finally got my copy of Evolution of a Cro-Magnon yesterday and I started reading it-
I am mildly surprised by the size of the book (its a work out to read this thing while in bed)
plus so far it is really good.

I guess I just abandoned Lies My Teacher Told Me.
I think I am going [...]

Following up on the last book post from yesterday:
I read the Columbus chapter from Lies My Teacher Told Me-
This chapter elaborates on things I already knew about the nonsense being taught as fact about Columbus-
I am not especially fond of what I have read so far-
but I think I will continue the book for now- [...]

I finished up reading Rant by Chuck Palahniuk this weekend-
Not a complete waste of time however I was largely underwhelmed (yet again… a common theme for me and Palahniuk).
-
Predictably grimy. Predictably dark and counter-culture.
Without spoiling the book- I would say that this one is reaching quite far into some science-fictiony elements-
(as Vonnegut did earlier in [...]

I am still currently reading Young and Revolting by C.D. Payne (3rd sequel to Youth In Revolt)
but I bought Rant by Chuck Palahniuk for when I am done with the former.
The last Palahniuk book that I read was Choke- and I was definitely underwhelmed… and put any aspirations I had for reading other books of his [...]
